Nancy Cavanaugh Obituary
January 16, 1950 - September 9, 2025
Nancy E. Cavanaugh, 75, of Meriden, entered into eternal rest on September 9, 2025, and was reunited with her husband and the love of her life, Michael.
Born into a close-knit family, Nancy graduated from Lyman Hall High School and Quinnipiac University, beginning a radiology career that spanned more than 50 years. Admired by colleagues and cherished by patients, Nancy was known for her dedication, kindness, and compassion.
Nancy and Michael shared nearly five decades of marriage, raising three daughters-Kristen, Michele, and Lisa-who remember her as the heart of their family. Known as "Big Nance" to many, she was celebrated for her humor, love of shopping, and generous spirit. She adored her grandchildren, spoiling them with warmth, stories, and endless love.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nancy and Robert Heilman; her husband, Michael; her brother, Robert J. Heilman Jr.; and her dear friend, Donna Malley. She is survived by her daughters Kristen (Paul), Michele (Ron), and Lisa; her grandchildren Madyson, Joshua, Michael, RJ, Kaylee, and Xander; her best friend Lucy; and her loyal Schnauzer, Chloe.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation on Saturday, September 20th from 9-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home located at 273 S Elm St. in Wallingford. In honor of "Big Nance," donations may be made to a charity of your choice. B.C. Bailey Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with Nancy's final care and arrangements.
