Patricia Bevins Obituary

HAMDEN - Patricia Johnson Bevins, 78, of Hamden, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012, peacefully at her home. She was the beloved wife of 58 years this past October 23 to Daniel P. Bevins.
Born in New Haven on February 7, 1934, daughter of the late Henry and Marjorie Lincoln Johnson, Patricia was employed by the UI Company until the birth of their first of five children. She took on many hobbies over the years including gardening, chair caning, bread making, and knitting Icelandic sweaters, afghans and her yearly Christmas booties. She enjoyed camping in Rhode Island, sitting on the beach and riding the waves at Misquamicut. After Dan's retirement they spent their winters in Deerfield Beach, Fla. Mother of Daniel Bevins and his wife, Kathleen of Northford, Michael Bevins and his wife, Marilyn of Coral Springs, Fla., Geraldine Decapua and her husband, Edward, Stephen Bevins and his wife, Lisa all of Hamden, and Patricia Erdman and her husband, David of Meriden. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Nelly Bevins, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers-in-law, Edward and Gerald Bevins, sister-in-laws, Teresa, Sylvia, Margaret (Peggy) and Lynn Bevins, and a nephew Christopher Stone.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Wednesday morning, October 31, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Hamden Plains Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday, October 30, from 5 to 8 pm.
