Patricia Michaud

Patricia (Gagnon) Michaud, 80, died peacefully at her home in Southington on July 28, 2010. She was the wife of the late Leo Michaud.

She was born in Winterville, Maine on Aug. 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Amanda (Gagnon) Cyr. She was a devoted wife and mother. She raised 11 children in Southington, became widowed and then began working in the food services department at Pratt & Whitney, Superior Electric and The Hartford. She was a resident of Southington for more than 55 years.

She leaves four sons, Martin Michaud, of Plainville, Regis Michaud, of Milford, Steve Michaud, with whom she resided, and Paul Michaud, of Meriden; six daughters, Lou Ann and husband, Robert Lebel, Betty "BJ" and husband, Larry Horton, Denise and husband, George Chamberland, all of Southington, Dolores "Dee" and husband,Michael Cameron, Darlene and husband, Ivan Menard, all of Bristol, and Elaine Michaud, of Southington; 12 grandchildren, Patricia Lebel, Dawn Appelle, Cristal Michaud, Edward Menard and wife, Stephanie, Jeffrey Phaneuf, Cheryl Menard, Jaclyn Levesque, Shawn Phaneuf, Katherine Levesque, James Cameron, Kelly Cameron and Alex Menard, five great-grandchildren, Kimberly Lebel, Samantha Appelle, Thomas Lebel, Sara Buchanan and Zachary Glennon; a sister, Wanita Blaise, of Bristol; four brothers, Patrick "Pete" Cyr, of Millinocket, Maine, George Cyr, of Bristol, Carl Cyr, of Ft. Kent, Maine, and John Cyr, of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a son, John Michaud and a brother, Mitchell Cyr.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington followed by a reception. Per Mrs. Michaud, her family requests that all attending the services wear "dungarees" and shirts in her favorite color, red. The family deeply appreciated the care given by and requests Memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Connecticut Inc., 56 West Main St., Plainville, CT 06062-1904. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements.
