Patsy Craney Obituary

RANDOLPH, Vt. - Patsy Sharp Craney, 75, died on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 at home in Randolph, Vt., after a long battle with cancer.

Patsy was born on April 5 in Stillwater, Maine, to parents, Thomas Sharp and Avis Sharp. She graduated from Platt High School in Meriden, Conn. in 1959, and from Community College of Vermont with an Associate's degree in Office Management when she was 67 years old. Patsy lived in Meriden for many years until moving to Randolph, Vt. in 1988. Patsy attended South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church prior to moving to Vermont.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Ernest D. Craney, to whom she was married for 57 years; children, Charlotte Ward, of Bethel, Vt.; Idella Craney of North Attleboro, Mass., and Ernest Craney II, of Randolph, Vt.; sister, Mavis McConnell, of Meriden, Conn.; and her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Karyl Anne Craney; brother, Albert Sharp, of Wallingford, Conn.; and sister, Idella Lashway, of Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the United Church of Randolph, Vt. Calling hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. Burial will be in the spring at Pleasant View Cemetery.
