Richard E. McKee

Richard E. McKee, 78, of Southington, beloved husband of Patricia (Kelly) McKee, died on Monday (March 1, 2021) at Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, New Haven. He was born to the late Everett and Lois (Lord) McKee in Royalton, Vermont. Richard was a proud veteran of The United States Army. He worked for Pratt and Whitney for 41 years before his retirement in 2006. Richard was recently able to finish his lifelong project of restoring a 1934 Ford Coupe, it was originally purchased when his oldest child was just 18 months old, and was finished in 2020. An avid auto enthusiast, Richard won the first car show he entered. Above all else, Richard loved Patricia, his wife of 56 years.

In addition to Patricia, Richard is survived by his sons: Robert McKee and his wife Carie of Southington and Richard McKee II and his wife Mira of Orlando, FL; daughter: Katholeen McKee of Polson, MT; grandchildren: Codey, Erica, Christian, Sebastian, Maddie, Brady, Griffin, and Riley; Great-Grandchildren: Lillyonna, Mateo, and Benton; a brother: Robert McKee and his wife Patricia of R.I.; sisters: Mary Marszalkowski of R.I., Virginia Fiore and her husband Peter of R.I., Rose Marie Chevalier and her husband Maurice of NY, and Cece Burch and her husband Richard of NH. Richard was predeceased by a sister: Susan Pond.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 6, 2021, 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be Friday, March 5th from 5-7 p.m. Social distancing and masks are required at all times.
