Rose Nelson Obituary

MERIDEN - Rose M. Nelson returned to the lord on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016.

She was born April 23, 1930, in Marion, a daughter of the late John and Rose (Grillo) Marotti Sr. Rose lived a contented life at the Bradley Home since 2013, spending her days in prayer and bible studies and their many daily events. Rose was a founding member of New Life Church, where she was the first recipient of the Rose M. Nelson Ministry Award.

Rose is survived by her children, Chris Haberli, of Cromwell, Rose and her husband, Pete Todora, of Texas, Pat Marotti, of Meriden, and Steve and his wife, Tina Nelson, of Wolcott; five grandchildren, Lokeilani Kaimana, Aaron Marotti and Lee, Jim and Nicole Nelson; as well as a brother; and sister. She was predeceased by one brother; and two sisters.

Rose's funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Rose's memory may be made to New Life Church, 254 Bee St., Meriden,CT 06450. When I first joined New Life Church, Miss Rose Nelson was a greeter at the door and welcomed me in. I will always remember her as being a servant for the Lord. And she always had a smile. I loved her....till we meet again in glory.
