Ruth Bergemann Obituary

MERIDEN - "Marge" Ruth Bergemann, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at the Meriden Center.

Born on June 10, 1921 in Torrington, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Ruth (Lumb) Gallagher. Ruth was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed her walks at the Meriden Square. Ruth was well known for her baking skills specializing in her fantastic brownies.

Ruth is survived by her son, David Gallagher, of New York; many close friends and especially her very close friend of many years, Roland Boucher, Sr.; a niece; and two nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Gallagher; and her niece, Christine.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m., at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

I worked at Big Buy with Marge for several years. She was such a sweet woman. She taught me all I needed to know about the bookkeeping. My thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
