Suzanne Drechsler Obituary
We are sad to share that Suzanne Philibert Drechsler passed away on July 24, 2025, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, after a long illness. Sue faced the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis with courage and dignity. Sue was supported every step of the way by her devoted husband, Peter, who cared for her at their home for many years.
Sue was born on May 22,1955, in Meriden, the youngest child of Joseph and Alice (Larese) Philibert. Sue was a 1973 graduate of Platt High School and lived and worked in Meriden all her life until she and Peter relocated to Canton, OH, in 2006.
Sue survived by her husband of 37 years, Peter, her sisters, Anita (Michael) Early of Southington and Nan (Jim) Peckham of Windsor, sisters-in-law, Lenor Carabetta of Westbrook, Pam Ranno of Deerfield Beach FL, brother-in-law, Dale Drechsler of Hutchinson Island, FL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
We invite family and friends to a celebration of Sue's life on Sept. 13th, from 2 to 4 at Violi's Restaurant, 688 Westfield Rd., Meriden.
Those wishing to honor Sue can make a donation to The Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, in her name.
