Theresa C. Maier

Theresa C. Maier, 88, beloved wife of the late John J. "Jack" Maier, Sr., passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Killingly, CT, on January 30, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Albina (Herbert) Couture.

Theresa graduated from Rockville High School and founded Maier Real Estate in 1959 with her husband Jack. She founded the Charter Oak Chapter of Women's Council of Realtors, was a Past President of the Central CT Board of Realtors, a longtime member of the Democrat town committee and chaired election campaigns for State Rep. John Papandrea.

Theresa enjoyed golfing with friends and family. She was an avid Yankee and UCONN Men's basketball fan. Theresa met her husband on UCONN campus and was married 54 years to Jack. She was matriarch of the family.

Her love of animals started at a young age with a unique variety of unusual pets of every kind including a pet crow. Her home wild birds and squirrels will miss their daily feeding. She always had a beloved dog by her side, her beloved Duke had a special place in her heart and helped her make it through her husband's passing. She leaves behind her current love Lily.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Maier Schede and her husband Ernest Paul; her son, John J. Maier, Jr. and his wife Nancy; her three grandchildren, Jaclyn Schede Piatak, Kathleen Maier Uhlman and John T. Maier and her great-grandchildren, Cecilia Uhlman, Claire Uhlman, Ryder Maier, Talon Maier, and Natalie Piatak.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 22nd at 11 a.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
