Thomas DelVecchio Obituary

Thomas J. DelVecchio, 67, of Temple Street, North Haven, and Sanibel Island, Fla., died March 1, 2008, at Yale-New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Josephine M. (Zimbardi) DelVecchio.
Born in New Haven on July 10, 1940, he was the son of Helen Kowalski DelVecchio, of West Haven, and the late Anthony E. "Peps" DelVecchio. Tom was the owner and operator of Delson Plumb-ing & Heating, Inc. for the past 31 years. He had served his country in the U.S. Army and had coached many youth sports in the Town of North Haven.
He is survived by his sons, Anthony T. "Tony" DelVecchio, of East Haven, Andrew J. (Rosanne) DelVecchio, of North Haven, and T.J. (Stacey) DelVecchio, of Westfield, N.J.; grandchildren, Anthony T. DelVecchio, Jr., Lesley-Grace, Christopher, Ariana, Thomas, Zoe, and Tyler J. DelVecchio; a brother, Anthony "Cookie" DelVecchio, of West Haven; and a sister, Marlene Massella, of Clinton.
A funeral Mass was celebrated March 5 at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery. The North Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, 106 Towerview Court, Cary, NC 27513.
