Thomas Henry Sheehy

WALLINGFORD - Thomas Henry Sheehy, 73, of Wallingford, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 at the Masonicare Health Center.

Thomas was born in Meriden, Jan. 27, 1937, the son of the late Robert F. Sheehy and Elizabeth Bartek Sheehy. He was a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and had been employed as a librarian at the University of Massachusetts Medical Library in Worcester, Mass., until his retirement. Thomas was an avid reader, accumulating many books through the years, creating his own personal library and was also a civil war "buff."

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Marylyn and Raymond Glenn, of Wallingford; his two nieces, Michelle and John O'Connell and Sherri and Francis Casulla, both of Wallingford; his four grandnephews; and one grandniece, Riley, Brendan, and Jameson O'Connell, and Callie and Liam Casulla.

His family would like to extend a special thanks to the Village at Kensington Place and the Masonicare Health Center for the kindness and care given to Thomas.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Friday, Aug. 13, from 9 until 10 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to the Church of the Resurrection, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
