Timothy (Tim) J. Rich
Tim Rich, formerly of Meriden and Westbrook passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, in NJ after a brief illness. He was 61. Tim was born in Meriden on May 17, 1963, to Mary E. and Daniel J. Rich. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Joseph and Michael. He is survived by sisters Lisabeth Billingsley and Mary Ellen Taylor, as well as nieces Marla (Nick) Matarazzo, and Jerusha Rich; nephews Jay Taylor, Daniel (Bridgit) Rich; great-nieces Natalie and Lauren Matarazzo, Vanessa Taylor, Sophia and Stella Rich. Tim graduated from Maloney High School in Meriden, class of 1981. While in high school, Tim won several awards for photos he had taken. He went on to study photography at Rhode Island School of Photography in Providence. After graduation, his passion and natural born talent led him to New York City for several decades where he became an accomplished photographer. Some of his clients included Arrow, Brooks Brothers, London Fog, L'Oreal, and Lord and Taylor. His photographic images appeared in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Essence, In-Style, and Men's Health magazines over the years. Tim will be remembered for his zest for life, strength, warm heartedness to all; living on in the hearts of all those he touched. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed. A celebration of Tim's life will be announced by his family at a later date.

RIP my old Westbrook friend. Our youth 50 years ago, now in the rearview, was most wisely misspent during summers from `74 to `81 forging adulthood.

My condolences to Tim´s family and friends from CT, NY, NJ and beyond. We have lost a beautiful soul far too soon. I was blessed to know Tim nearly my entire life. From bombing around in the old Cadillac to rowing the boat out to Menunketesuck Island or riding the NYC subways the common denominator was laughter. Tim had a gift to make us all happy. He also saw the good in everyone and everything making him an extraordinary photographer. His latest career centered around helping others. No surprise. RIP dear friend. I will miss you forever.

Tim and were good friends in high school both of us into photography. I remember going up to Trinity college to pick up our photography awards in his 63 gold caddy. Tim was one of the kindest, generous and talented person I have met in my life. I spoke with him about 2 months ago on the phone and we were going to get together this summer sometime when he got to Connecticut. Rest in peace my friend.

I grew up in Meriden and went to school with Tim at Maloney. I remember his genuine gentle and spirited personality and love for photography. I only wish that I knew that he was in Westbrook as I have lived in Clinton for almost 3 decades. My condolences to Tim's family. His spirit and memories will always be with you.
