Wayne Little Obituary

Wayne Lawrence Little, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was born on July 30, 1959 in New Britain, Connecticut, to parents, Patricia Little-Peczynski, of Meriden, Connecticut, and the late Wayne Little, of Titusville, Florida. Wayne grew up in Meriden, Connecticut, with his parents and siblings, Karen (John) Ahern, of Madison, Connecticut, and Scott (Pamela) Little, of Meriden, Connecticut. He attended St. Joseph School and Xavier High School before graduating from Platt High School in 1977. One of Wayne's fondest memories was playing football at Platt. He loved his teammates and the sport, and will be remembered for the plays he made as #82.

In 1987, Wayne relocated to Merritt Island, Florida, and started working as a salesman at Austin Imports. Shortly thereafter he was named salesman of the month and won a trip on a Disney Cruise. While on the cruise in August 1988, Wayne met his former spouse and life-long love, Ellen Onieal, on the ship's basketball court. The two moved to Palm Bay, Florida, and were married in April 1990.

Wayne worked as car salesman for nearly thirty years. He was known for his infectious personality, contagious laugh, jokes, and impeccable knowledge of sports trivia. He was known for reminiscing about old times and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Dallas Cowboys. Wayne enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved visiting his hometown of Meriden, Connecticut. Whenever he was home, he made a point to stop at Ted's Restaurant for a steamed cheeseburger.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Wayne. He is survived by his mother, Patricia, sister, Karen, brother, Scott, former spouse, Ellen, brother-in-law, John, sister-in-law, Pam, and seven nieces and nephews, Kristin Ahern, Brittany (Samuel) Wehrle, John Ahern, Scott Little, Megan Ahern, Alyssa Ahern, and Daniel Little, his life-long friend, Phil Wieloch, and countless family members and friends.

A viewing was held in Melbourne, Florida, on February 12, 2022.
