William Chamberlain Obituary

William Chamberlain
7/17/2025
William "Bill" Chamberlain, a guitarist whose reputation in the punk universe was international, died in Philadelphia on July 17, due to complications from a medical procedure.
Bill grew up in Meriden and attended H.C. Wilcox Technical High School. He played in many bands for almost 40 years including TSS, The Pist, Mankind, React, Caustic Christ, and Behind Enemy Lines. His most recent bands were The Dissidents (with his beloved wife, Rachel Courtney) and The Brood. He was an unfailingly kind person, who loved children and animals and was a fierce proponent of peace, justice and equity in his music and in his actions.
A memorial for Bill will be held October 26, at 4pm at the Mark Twain House in Hartford. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Gaza Soup Kitchen.
Bill is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Patricia and Michael Damiano of Meriden; his sisters, Sarah of East Haven and Caroline of Alliance, OH; his nephew, Kyle of Meriden; and a host of loving in-laws and friends. His father, William Sr., predeceased him.
