William Charboneau Obituary

MIDDLEFIELD - CHARBONEAU, WILLIAM J. Surrounded by his loving family William J. Charboneau (82) of Middlefield entered peacefully into heaven on Thursday Oct. 20, 2011. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen (Hupfer) of 60 years. He is the son of Joseph and Marcella (Flory) Charboneau formerly of Middlefield.

Father to Mary Ann (Richard) Notarangelo of Rockfall, Joan (Rick) Santos of Middlefield, Thomas (Jeanne) Charboneau of No. Attleboro, Mass., Cathy (Tom) Morrone of North Haven; adored Grandfather of ten, Michael (Liz) Notarangelo, Richard (Sarah) Notarangelo, Stephen Notarangelo, Gregory and Michelle Santos, Christopher, David and Nicholas Charboneau, Paul and Kelly Morrone. Bill spent his childhood in Baltimore MD, where he and Mary Ellen met in grade school, marrying in 1951. Bill graduated in 1951 from Loyola College, Baltimore with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. A Korean War veteran, he served in the U.S. Army 1952 to 1954. He was a partner at Ripps Realty in property management. Prior to his retirement he managed the Davenport-Dunbar elderly housing in Hamden. He was the current Chairman of the Middlefield Housing Authority, volunteering since 2003 to make housing affordable for all citizens. He loved to play golf, boating, reading and dancing. He will be remembered as a loving and generous husband, dad, granddad and friend to many.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 9 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Colman Church, Middlefield at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in Middlefield Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Middlefield Senior Center, 405 Main St., Middlefield, CT 06455 or the V.F.W., P.O. Wonderful memories of days being a neighbor. He did wonderful work for Middlefield once he moved here. No problem jumping right in and taking responsibility. I'll miss running into him at the library and I'm sure they will miss his "business" also. Steven and my prayers are with your family.
