Diane Scala Obituary
Colrain, MA - Diane M. (Ringwood) Scala, 76, passed away at home on December 4, 2023 following a brief illness.
Diane was born in Mt. Kisco, NY on August 30, 1947 the daughter of Charles and Rose (Pritchard) Ringwood. She was one of 12 children.
She was married to Leonard Scala on March 22, 1969, together for nearly 52 years until his passing on December 11, 2021.
Diane served as a customer service representative for Reader's Digest for many years prior to moving to Colrain. She was an avid reader and often could be found at the Griswold Memorial Library in Colrain, looking through the stacks to find her next read. Diane enjoyed playing cards and solving puzzles of all kinds.
Diane's pride and joy was her family. She had a big heart and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and mother-in-law. She surrounded herself with love and was a peaceful soul. Her two cats were also part of her family and she loved them dearly.
Diane's loving and devoted family includes her son Stephen (Kristen) Scala of Conway, Kevin (Laura) Scala of Wilton, NY, her grandchildren Allison, Alicia, Greg, Michael, Tony, Junior, JJ and her two special granddaughters Elizabeth and Sarah. She also leaves her loving sisters Joan Bell of Colrain, Barbara Webber of Colrain, Elaine Swanson of Palm Bay, FL, and Gail (George) Sinistore of Colrain, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband Leonard, Diane was predeceased by her siblings, Audrey Brown, Virginia Wychunis, Janet Farquhar, Letitia Sinistore, Ellen Ringwood, John Ringwood and Charles Ringwood.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 8, at 1:00 pm, at West Branch Cemetery in Colrain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Diane's name may be sent to the Griswold Memorial Library, FOGML, c/o 67 Foundry Village Rd., Colrain MA, 01340

Mom S. You will be missed. Over the last 29 years you had become not only my Mother-in-law but my friend. You were there for me and Kevin and our boys. I've enjoyed our laughs while playing cards and our visits. The occasional road trip along the way. I love you and I will miss you. And I promise to be here for your son. Rest in peace and free of pain.
