I am so sorry to see that Dolores has passed away. I spent many years babysitting for the children, as well as ironing for her, especially all the little girls dresses! She and John were wonderful friends of my parents, too. May she rest in peace.

The first time I met Dolores, at my sister Sheila's and her son John's wedding, I felt like had known her all my life. It was basically impossible not to like someone who focused so sincerely on every word out of your mouth, even if nothing you said had any value whatsoever. She listened intensely, looking to make a connection, with an impish smile on her face, waiting for her opportunity to spring a little humor, zing you with writhe wit, or simply let you know you mattered. It was always good news that Dolores and John would be coming to a family gathering at John Jr. and Sheila's house, I knew I was in for a good time. When my son Luke was studying piano at UMASS, she reached out and offered to have him stop by her home in nearby Deerfield or come over for a visit if he were ever lonely. That's who Dolores was -- a kind, loving, and generous person who made a mark and made a difference in the lives of everyone she touched. May she rest in well deserved peace after a loving and meaningful life.
