We are so sorry to hear of Don's passing. Growing up in Shrewsbury with Don, Kathy, and the whole Nelson crew, I always had a big "crush" on Don. May you remember all the fun times and cherish the great memories.

The irony of losing my brother, my friend, my mentor on Fathers Day is devastating. I never knew a better example of a father.
Donny was also the big brother who brought so much great music into my life. Beginning in the late sixties he would return home from UMass with an arm load of albums (I was just a kid starting to put drum sticks in my hands). That music blew my mind and is the reason I play. Though Don never played professionally, he is the one of the best musicians I ever knew.
I love you Bro and will miss you.

Don and Suzanne were such good neighbors here in East Leverett. We have missed seeing you walking by, your warm smiles, quick humor and just plain neighbor-talk. We are very saddened to hear of Don's passing. Our thoughts are with you, Suzanne, and your wonderful family.
