Edmund F. Drown, Jr.

Greenfield, MA - Edmund F. Drown Jr., passed away peacefully on 1/2/23. He was born 5/7/43 to Jane (Prusik) and Edmund F. Drown Sr., of Whately.

Ed leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Cray Drown (married 12/20/69) and their 2 loving daughters, Bonnie and Paula. He will also be remembered by his sisters, Sharon Meunier, Roberta Bassett, (brother-in-law Tom Bassett), and Marie Bill, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Also close friends: Bob Cloutier, Maxine Sokoloski, Joyce O'Bryan and Fran Yestramski. He was predeceased by his parents.

Ed enjoyed time with his family, friends and his cats, Wisdom, Fluffy & Sara; fishing, biking, hunting, carpentry and traveling. He was a member of several clubs and was always willing to help his family and friends. He was a good man.

Educated in Whately Public Schools, Ed graduated from Frontier in 1961, and then from STCC in 1963 with a degree in Communications/Electronics. Ed enlisted in the USAF and served our nation during the Vietnam Conflict in the 379th AMMS-SAC. He was honorably discharged with the rank of A1C.

After military service, Ed worked at GTD Corp where he met his wife. He then accepted a position with New England Telephone, first as a Lineman, then promoted to Outside Plant Engineer, where he remained until retiring after 25 years.

At the request of the family, services will be private and officiated by Mr. Paul DeCarlo, Deacon, of the parish of Blessed Trinity, Greenfield, MA. Burial will take place with military honors, including a detachment of the USAF, at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Visiting hours are omitted.
