Gerald Fournier Obituary

Gerald P. Fournier

Las Vegas, NV - Gerald P. "Jason/Jerry" Fournier, 74, a resident of Las Vegas, NV, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 7.

A native of Montague, MA, he was born on July 30, 1951 to Bernard C. "Bernie" Fournier and Dorothy Fournier, and was educated in Montague Public Schools, Turners Falls High School, class of 1969. Gerald received a Bachelor's Degree from Boston College and a Master's Degree from Plymouth State College. He was a Certified Public Accountant.

Gerald dedicated his life to service. Initially serving in the U.S. Peace Corps in Brazil, and then continuing to serve his country throughout his entire career in federal government for the Internal Revenue Service in Keene, NH, and Washington, D.C.

Gerald was a voracious reader, an enthusiastic badminton and pickleball player, and twice achieved a 200 game in bowling. He cherished his annual ski trips to Aspen with friends of over fifty years, as well as his participation in New England clam bakes. He was a devoted Boston College alumnus-especially for its football program. He is remembered for his wit and humor, his steadfast sense of fellowship and responsibility, and his unwavering devotion to his family.

Gerald is lovingly remembered by his wife, Debra "Debbie" Kilpatrick, and his dog Leo; his son Paul E. Fournier and his wife Jeannette, of Bryn Mawr, PA; his grandsons Alexandre "Xander" Fournier and Maximilian "Max" Fournier; and his son Jamie L. Fournier, of Turners Falls, MA.

He is also lovingly remembered by his brother James B. Fournier of Dallas, GA, as well as by his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Bernard Fournier; his mother, Dorothy Fournier; his brother, Mark E. Fournier, and several aunts and uncles.

Per his desires, cremation rites will be accorded, and memorial services will be held at a later date. Expressions of affection in the form of charitable contributions, are suggested in lieu of flowers to Boston College (https://give.bc.edu/campaigns/15467/donations/new?a=3974040).
