Helen Banach Obituary

BERNARDSTON - Helen T. Banach, 92 of Hillcrest Drive Bernardston, died Friday (7-17-2015) peacefully at her home. She was born in Clinton, Ma. on May 26, 1923 the daughter of Rodis and Eva (Paparis) Trephon. Helen grew up in Manchester, NH and moved to Bernardston in 1949. She and her former husband Charles Skiathitis owned and operated the Four Leaf Clover Restaurant for several years. She married Edward Banach in Jaunary of 1970. She later worked at Deerfield Academy as an executive secretary for the Capital Fund Dept. from where she retired. After retirement she dedicated her time to caring for her daughter Angela. She spent much time working with the Franklin County ARC. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, in Holyoke, MA.
She is survived by her husband Edward, and Children: Paul and his wife JoAnne of Bernardston, James and his wife Helen of Monroe, NC, and Angela Skiathitis of Bernardston. She is also survived by her sister Ethel Giglio and her husband Raymond of North Andover, MA. Eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers; John and Charles and sister Rose Trephon.
A Greek Orthodox Service will be Wednesday (7-22-2015) at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Church, 8 Church St. in Greenfield, Ma. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Bernardston, Ma.
There will be a calling hour from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Wednesday.
Donations in her memory may be made to ARC of Franklin County, 62 Hastings St. Greenfield, Ma. 01301.
