John Delaney Obituary
Shelburne Falls / Deerfield, MA - John J. Delaney, 94, formerly of Shelburne Falls and Deerfield, passed away August 28, 2024 in Zephyrhills, Florida, with family by his side.
He was born in Boston, Mass., November 27, 1929, the adopted son of the late John J. and Mary (McDonald) Delaney.
John was a quiet, gentle man, and enjoyed photography, loved animals, and was a generous, loving husband and father. He graduated from Arms Academy in 1948 and served in the US Air Force from 1948-1952. He retired from Millers Falls Tool (Ingersol-Rand) after 20 years and was a letter carrier in the Millers Falls-Turners Falls area until 1989.
His wife of 70 years, Constance (Lincoln), survives him. Also surviving are nine of their ten children: Michael (Clairone) of Maryland; Jeanne Logue (Jim), Stephen, Bruce and Anne Simmons, all of Florida; Dawn Hagy (Vernon) of Tennessee; Brian of Salt Lake City; Richard (Maryann) of Greenfield and Joyce Nichols (Glenn) of Belchertown. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, Angela (George) LaCroix of Greenfield and Beverly Lincoln of North Carolina. Their son Thomas, grandson Roger Simmons and brother-in-law Wesley Lincoln pre-deceased him.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 13, 2024, at 2 pm at Whitfield Funeral Home in Zephyrhills.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. He was our mailman in Millers Falls. Our Street ( Pratt ) had a ton of kids. When John deliver mail they would follow him up one side and down the other. He was the Pied Piper He was by far the best mailman we ever had. He was such a sweet wonderful man. My condolences to his family. I know he will be missed.

To the Delaney family: Sending condolences on the loss of John. Being raised in Millers Falls, I knew him as the mail carrier. He was always friendly. I went to school with Steven. John was a great man, and I know he will be missed. He will always be in your heart and in our memories. May he rest in peace.
