John DiSciullo Obituary

John Robert DiSciullo

Greenfield, MA - John Robert DiSciullo, 76, passed away, on February 9th, 2024, as he lived, in a very quiet and content manner, in the presence, all the while, of his loving family.

John was born in Malden MA, on July 17th, 1947, to the parents of Guido and Katherine DiSciullo. His five siblings were always very close to his heart….Phil, Carl, Paul, Kathleen and Joanne.

John had a strong commitment to his faith as well as to his wife Joanne of over 50 years, and his children; Rayna, Joel, and Adam. His grandchildren; Samantha, Gianna, Joseph, Isabella, MaKenzie and Skylah brought him joy.

John attended Glenwood Elementary, Beebe Junior High, and Malden High School. John's military service was completed in the Air Force. Respiratory Therapy was John's profession with the Franklyn Medical Center, in Greenfield, early in his career, and then the Leeds, MA VA Healthcare System, until he retired.

John was a man of few words, but many attributes, which touched numerous lives along his journey on this earth. He loved cycling, and was an avid reader. He also loved playing sports, especially basketball and tennis. He had an uncanny ability to create and start up other interactive games with anyone from the age of seven to seventy. He was also a computer wiz!! In our circle of friends and family, John was the chess master, being just about undefeated. Even though John was extremely competitive, he was always a gentleman and knew how to keep peace in any of these gatherings. For our ultimate enjoyment together, John and I would run away to Florida, for the Winter. What fun!!!

John was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. It was an honor to be a part of his life. He was our gift from our Heavenly Father. We loved him very much and will miss him all the days of our lives.

A celebration of John's life is planned for late this Spring for family and close friends.

John will be dearly missed in our tennis league in Fort Myers Florida. He was my tennis partner for many years and will be dearly missed. Our lives in Florida will not be the same without our competitive and gentlemenly friend, John.

I knew John as part of Clint Davis´ tennis group.I always wanted to partner with him because he was not only an exceptionally good player but, more importantly, very supportive of folks he played with regardless of ability. Obviously a very supportive family man and my sincere condolences to his loved ones. John, you are missed. God bless! Don
