Jonathan F. Hardy

1981 - 2021

On Saturday January 23, 2021, Jonathan Francis Hardy: loving father, son, brother and a great friend passed away at the age of 39 at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, MA. Jonathan was born on March I, 1981 in Greenfield, MA to Paul Francis Hardy and Cheryl A. (Brownell) Begos. He graduated from the Franklin County Technical School, where he studied carpentry as his major. He was captain of the Football team on which he played all four years and loved very much. Jonathan was also on the track team while attending F.C.T.S. to keep in shape for football in the off season. He also played hockey his entire childhood through high school for the Franklin County Hockey Association.

Jonathan had a deep passion for being outdoors, especially while fishing. For him that was when he was in his peaceful place. He also loved playing darts as well as golf. Jonathan loved spending time with his family, especially his faithful sidekick puppy Fenway, who he was rarely seen without. His daughter Mckenzie was the biggest blessing of his entire life. Mckenzie was EVERYTHING to Jono.

He was a member of the Millers Falls Rod & Gun for many years where he enjoyed shooting firearms, attending turkey shoots and spending time with his friends. Jonathan was also a longtime member of The Sons of The American Legion. He loved music very much. Late 90's - early 2000's hip hop and rap were his favorite.

Jono was a very big-hearted soul, while stubborn at times, he always gave 110% when it came to friendship, family and love. He was a person who will never be forgotten for the loyalty and love he showed for his family and friends, of which he had many. He was known by many as a "big teddy bear" for his big kind heart.

Jonathan was predeceased by his grandparents Walter and Shirley Hardy, and Gordon and Donna Brownell and his stepfather Michael J. Begos.

Jonathan is survived by his daughter Mckenzie A. Hardy, his mother Cheryl A. Begos, his father and stepmother Paul and Helga Hardy, his younger brother Jay P. Hardy and many others: stepfamily, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many close friends which he undoubtedly considered family as well.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 24, 2021 from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at the Millers Falls Rod & Gun Club, 210 Turners Falls Road, Montague, MA 01351. A private burial ceremony for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
