GREENFIELD - Joyce (Klisenbauer) Toth, 59, of Greenfield, MA died peacefully at her home Tuesday morning (1-31-2017) surrounded by her loving family, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for several years. She was born in Greenfield, MA on January 1, 1958 to John and Celia (Tenney) Klisenbauer. She attended the Frontier Regional School system and Greenfield Community College. Joyce then graduated magna cum laude from Smith College as an Ada Comstock Scholar, and went on to earn her Master's degree before beginning a rewarding career as a speech and language pathologist. She spent many years working at Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton, MA, and was most recently employed by the Orange, MA school system.
She was previously a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenfield where she served as a lector, eucharistic minister, and observer of Perpetual Adoration, and later joined St. Patrick's Church in Northfield. She married the love of her life, Jim Toth, in 2008. They enjoyed traveling and exploring together, and spent time in Scotland and across Europe. She loved her work, but her greatest joy was her family. Joyce was an amazing woman, and an inspiration to many. It is hoped that her kind heart, selfless nature and generous spirit will live on in all those whose lives she has touched.
Joyce is survived by her husband Jim, daughter Elizabeth and husband Daniel Salls of Sunderland, MA, son Ahren Fitzroy of Greenfield, MA, and four granddaughters, who were the light of her life: Dominique, Catherine, and Mary Salls, and Lydian Fitzroy. Joyce's first great-granddaughter, Vivian Joy, whom she met via ultrasound and belly kicks, is expected to arrive in May. She is and will continue to be deeply missed by these and all of her family members and friends.
A memorial Mass will be held on February 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Main St., Northfield, MA. The Rev. Thomas Lisowski, Pastor will officiate. The Burial, and a celebration of life will occur at a later date in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, So. Deerfield, MA.

I only got to enjoy one year working with Joyce at Fisher Hill Elementary School in Orange but in that short time, I was able to get to know a very kind and caring person. Joyce will be missed! I really wish I could be there to honor her but unfortunately I can not. I will pray for her and her entire family.

My wonderful sister Joyce. I can't convey the loss. She was the best sister, mother, "mammy" auntie. I can't imagine my life without her. Even when she was sick, she would call me to make sure I was OK. She was strong, compassionate, loving, non-judgemental, caring and had a love for her family that was beautiful to see. I will miss her every day. Rest in peace Joyce. Say Hi to everyone for me! Love you.

I am very sorry for your loss.I grew up with joyce in sunderland and new the whole family.We went to proms with our dates and were very closs for a long time.her bother jack was my brothers best friend and we also had a lot of good times too.Her parents were tops in my book and to patty, I feel very sorry and know the past couple of years were tough on all of you.Please remember that god has a plan.
