Judith Lapointe Obituary

Judith A. Lapointe

Greenfield, MA —

Judith Agnes (Behaylo) Lapointe, 72, of Greenfield MA, died Tuesday November 16, 2021. She was born June 19, 1949 in Farren Memorial Hospital to Ted and Agnes Behaylo.

Educated in Greenfield Public Schools, she graduated Greenfield High School in 1967. She was a graduate of MCC North Adams Teachers College with a BS in Education in 1971. She also attended Elm's College for graduate studies.

She married Michael Lapointe on August 20, 1972 after meeting in 1966. She was immensely proud of her three children; Matthew and his wife Leslie of Greenville, SC, Andrew of Hudson, MA and Kathryn Giancola, her husband Geremie, and grandson Benjamin Giancola of East Granby, CT. Additionally, she leaves a sister Mary Dion and her husband William of Bernardston. She also leaves several sisters-in-law and brothers -in-law.

Judy was a devoted teacher to her students at Holy Trinity School for 20 years and retired as Principal in 2001. She was a devout communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Greenfield, a faithful member of the Rosary Sodality, was a Sacristan there for decades, and she loved and spent many hours in the Adoration Chapel there.

She was a very active Brownie and Girl Scout throughout High School. She worked for her parents, helping run Mohawk Ceramics Studio for many years. She loved camping, hiking, home making, crocheting, crafting, and was dedicated to her family.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be observed in Judy's memory on Saturday, November 20, 2021 @ 10:30AM from Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal St., Greenfield, with Rev. Fr. Valentine Nworah as the celebrant. Private rites of committal and interment will take place at a later date in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours are omitted. Judy's family will receive guests in the vestibule of the church prior to the funeral liturgy.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for consideration to Our Lady Queen of Peace House of Prayer 31 Mt. Ebo Rd. N, Brewster NY 10509, or Brigham and Women's Hospital 75 Francis Street, Boston MA 02115 in Judy's memory.

Mrs. Lapointe was my second grade teacher at HTS and then became principal while I was there. She will always hold a special place in my heart. She was amazing and changed a lot of young people's lives. I am a better person because I had her in my life growing up.

Judy was a classmate of mine At GHS. She was also at HTS when our daughter attended. I fondly remember Judy as being a delightful person and dedicated educator. I'm sure she will be deeply missed by many. Sincere condolences and pleasant memories to those she leaves behind.
