Luke Gorey Obituary

Luke Gorey

South Deerfield, MA — Luke Joseph Gorey,36 years old was born October 16, 1984, sixth generation to reside in Deerfield. He unexpectedly passed on Saturday April 17th at home with his beloved dog Skip by his side. Luke made everyone feel so loved and welcomed without even trying - that is what makes this so hard. He leaves behind the most amazing community of friends and family and if you should meet one of them they will have a story to tell; about Luke, Luke & Blake, Bluke, the Destroyer Twins. We pray that he has joined his mom Holly Tozloski who passed recently; whom he missed very much.

Luke was a patriot. He loved and was proud of the United States of America and everyone that serves our flag and communities. He was a fighter surviving medical hurdles his entire life. Through each battle he fought it with light, hope, and most of all humor. Luke always made you laugh. Childhood friends are heartbroken knowing that their irreplaceable friend Luke is gone.

It took awhile but Luke finally joined Facebook and he discovered emojis. He lived through the posts and pictures of his close friends and family and always had a comment of positivity. "Good and u"

He leaves behind his father Joseph Gorey and Roseann Goldsmith of Shutesbury. His identical twin brother Blake Joseph Gorey of Sunderland, his sister in law Kara Gorey and their children Benjamin and Bridget. His twin sisters Kelly Shaw and Melissa Fahey; brother-in-laws Tyler Fahey of Ipswich and Virgil Shaw of Stowe. His nieces Madison Shaw and Wynne Fahey and nephew Wyatt Fahey. Luke leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and especially Uncle Richard for the time they shared together.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday (04/24/2021) at 10:00 at Brookside Cemetery in South Deerfield, with Deacon Mark Kolasinski officiating. Facial coverings and social distancing requirements will be in place. Because of very limited parking, carpooling is advised. Arrangements are under the direction of Wrisley Funeral Home. Luke was one of my students at Frontier and always made me laugh with his great personality and witty remarks. I am so sorry for the family and his many friends for their loss. I believe I still have the artwork of a truck that he did in his art class and hung it in my room. May he be resting in peace.

Luke was one of my clients via MRC. Being one of the youngest clients I have cared for, and being around my age, I was greatly inspired by his strength and resilience. His passing was definitely unexpected and a loss to all who was touched by his life. May his soul rest in peace.
