Lydia Kisloski Obituary

SOUTH DEERFIELD - Lydia A. (Gromaski) Kisloski, 100, of South Deerfield, passed away peacefully Friday at the New England Health Center, the former Cozy Corner Nursing Home, in Sunderland.
She was born in Whately on July 4, 1912, to the late Alex and Mary (Sarafin) Gromaski. Lydia attended Whately Grammar School.
In 1951, she met her late husband, Alex, at a Polish polka dance; they then married and lived their life together in South Deerfield. She had worked at the Bement School in Deerfield for 42 years as a housekeeper.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Hyatt and her companion Ralph Keniston of Greenfield; her niece, Jan Balise of Hatfield, who was her caregiver; her brother, John Gromaski of Whately; her sisters, Florence Sadowski of Sunderland, Bertha Gromaski of Whately, Mary Rup of Whately and Eleanor Smith of South Deerfield, also several nieces and nephews.
Lydia was predeceased by her husband, Alex; her sisters, Alice and Rose, and her brothers, Leslie and Alec.
Her family would like to thank the Cozy Corner Nursing Home staff and Hospice of Franklin County staff for the excellent care, love, and compassion they provided Lydia during her the last two years of her time. Also, to Father Randy Calvo for all his support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the New England Health Center (former Cozy Corner), 61 Old Amherst Road, Sunderland, MA 01375, or to Holy Name of Jesus Church, Thayer Street, South Deerfield, MA 01375.
A memorial Mass and burial will be in the spring.
Drozdal Funeral Home of Northampton is in charge of the arrangements.
