Decatur
Funeral service for Lynn Christopher Jr., 77, of Decatur will be Sunday, October 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Jeff Sellers officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Christopher, who died Friday, October 4, 2013, was born March 19, 1936, in Jefferson County to Lynn Christopher Sr. and Sibyl Smith Christopher. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and worked at Monsanto for 35 years. Mr. Christopher loved his grandchildren very much and was an avid reader. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Faye Christopher; three daughters, Patricia Ann Christopher of Birmingham, Dana Lynne Harbin and husband, Clay, of Hazel Green and Sarah Elizabeth Bibb and husband, Gary, of Decatur; two sisters, Ann Lee of Decatur and Mary Silas of Athens; five grandchildren, Kayla Harbin of Nashville, Tenn., Kristin Harbin and Kelsey Harbin, both of Hazel Green, Hannah Bibb of Hartselle and Trey Sansing of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
