Mary Underwood Obituary
Colorado Springs, CO — Mary Davis Underwood, 73, of Colorado Springs, passed away December 4, 2021 at home. She was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on March 23, 1948 to George B. and Dorothy (Morin) Davis.
Mary was a registered obstetric nurse for the Baystate Medical Center system for many years and also worked for various ob/gyn practices. She graduated from Pioneer Valley Regional School in 1966 and Greenfield Community College. Mary loved her African Gray parrot, Clancie and numerous chihuahuas throughout the years. Mary was an avid quilter and made many quilts for her family and friends and for charity. She belonged to several quilt guilds. Mary was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Her survivors include her children: Laura B. Knutson and her husband David M. Knutson of Colorado Springs; Joel F. Underwood, Jr. of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts; her siblings: Daniel K. Davis of Greenfield, Massachusetts; Gayle E. Hall of Leyden, Massachusetts; Catherine A. McCrory of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her granddaughters: Madeline and Lillian Knutson; several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jefferson P. Davis.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
