Meghan Lynde Obituary

Meghan E. Lynde

Colrain, MA - Meghan Edith Lynde, 43, of Colrain, MA, a beautiful and generous soul, beloved daughter of Brian and Vicky Lynde (Huer) left those she loved and who treasured her deeply, on October 11, 2025.

Meghan was employed at Prudential Health Insurance as a Long Term Disability Claims Specialist at the time of her passing, and worked in similar roles prior to that in the Insurance and Worker's compensation industry when living in Atlanta, GA. Meghan also enjoyed working as a wedding day-of coordinator in GA and volunteering her talents and creative skills for friends and family for any project, event or party especially offering her phenomenal baking and cooking skills and of course a little sparkle.

A 2000 graduate of Mohawk Trail Regional High School, Meghan was a member of the National Honor Society and served on the Student Council. Meghan was always very passionate about inclusivity and kindness, leading the creation of the annual 'Star' project, which recognized all students and staff creating a sense of belonging and connectivity in the school community. Meghan was also very active in sports and music programs; she enjoyed participating in cross-country skiing 7th – 12th grade, four years of field hockey and tennis and was a drum majorette with the high school band. She also played saxophone and clarinet in the jazz and concert bands and was in both chorus and the performance select chorus.

Meghan attended University of Maine/ Orono "UMO" graduating in 2005 where she enjoyed the challenge of collegiate learning as well as the college atmosphere at her big brother, Josh's, alma mater. Meghan loved volunteering and attending ice hockey games.

Meghan is survived by her parents and four siblings, Josh Lynde (Amanda) of Tacoma, WA, Kristin Cartier (Dennis) of Greenville, SC, Matt Lynde (Laura) of Halifax, VT, Craig Lynde of Colrain, MA, Aunt Rebecca Stone (Craig 'CJ') of Halifax, VT, Uncles Chuck, Ronnie and Reggie Lynde. She also leaves beloved nieces Taya Lynde, Katrina (Seth) Williams, Madyson, Payson, Brittyn and Harper Lynde, nephews Ryan (Paige) Lynde, Greggory (Brook) Lynde, Kaleb and Josh Lynde. Meghan was dearly loved and close to two surviving cousins Valerie Jurek and Johnny Kane.

Meghan loved being an "Auntie" and as well as those listed, she assumed the role of Auntie to many of her friend's children and leaves many special friends that will forever remember her giving and fun spirit. Meghan, deeply loved and treasured by her TDA (her sister), was her shadow growing up and the closest of friends. Meghan was predeceased by her beloved dog Sophie Grace, the heart of her life, two weeks prior to her passing.

Meghan was highly creative, and she reveled in making collages, art gifts, special cards and meals or bakery treats for friends, family, and occasions making dinners and desserts which were second to none, which she gave of generously. She delighted in making cookies and treats for her mother to take to work at the BFMC/ED to share with her coworkers.

The family would like to deeply and sincerely thank the Emergency and ICU staff at Baystate Franklin, the staff at Baystate Medical Center, MICU, in Springfield and Dr. Hanna Little who will remain in our thoughts and prayers, for the loving and exceptional care they took of our Meghan. They did everything in their power, prayers, and arsenals of medicine to save her, but our Lord decided it was time to go home and for her to be at peace, forever in our hearts.

Calling hours will be at Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church Street, Shelburne Falls, MA on Saturday October 18th from 1:00 – 3:00 with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3:00 with a reception to follow.

The family would love to honor and celebrate Meghan with the flair she would have wanted "What's your favorite color?" Pink. Pink would be her answer. Yes, wear that. Or sparkles, that works too.

I was so terribly sad to hear of Meghan's passing. She was such a dear friend to my son and his wife, Josh and Ana Truelove. She was there for the birth of their son and their wedding. She planned and executed every detail of the baby shower and the wedding. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. Meghan did all of it with such a gracious and giving heart. I was grateful to know that they had such a loyal and kind friend as Meghan. I was impressed by. her from the start. She was so friendly and welcoming; so supportive and authentic.
May God bless Meghan's family in this difficult time. Please know how she positively impacted so many of us that you never knew. Thank you for the gift of her.
