I worked with Pete back in the early 90's when I was part time with Stop and Shop in Greenfield. I will always remember this story: A little boy was climbing on the rock hill behind the store. The little boy fell and hurt himself pretty badly. A customer came to the service desk and asked me to call 911. I did so and then grabbed Pete on my way out of the store to check on the little boy. When we got outside, Pete immediately took his uniform shirt off to wipe up the blood from the little boy's face and bear hugged him to keep him calm while I went to find his Mom in the store. When I went back outside with the boy's Mom, we saw Pete sitting on the ground hugging the little boys and rocking back and forth to stop him from crying waiting for the ambulance. I will never forget that moment! My thoughts are with Pete's family.
