Peter Valiton Obituary
Shelburne Falls, MA - Peter J. Valiton passed peacefully on January 3, 2025 at North Adams Hospital. Peter was born on July 4, 1961 to Harry and Mary (Munsinger) Valiton. He attended local schools and graduated from Mohawk Trail Regional High School in 1979. Pete worked 16 years as a machinist at various companies. His real passion was cooking, especially barbeques.
Peter was a life member of the Shelburne Falls Rod and Gun Club and the Shelburne Falls Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed car races, WWE Wrestling and all of the New England sports teams. He collected many tee shirts of events he attended or friends brought back to him from their adventures.
His greatest pride was family. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, William. He is survived by his brother Christopher and sister Caroline Phillips (Henry) of Shelburne Falls, nieces Tonya Groza (Kevin) of Montague and Elizabeth Ackley (David) of Ashland and a nephew Clinton Phillips (Leah) of Shelburne Falls. He also leaves Julia Massey, Joshua (Jen) and Jack Phillips, William and Deegan Ackley.
Growing up, Pete spent summers at the Buckland Rec, and wanted donations to go to Friends of the Buckland Recreation, c/o Buckland Town office on State Street, Shelburne Falls, MA 01370. The family would like to thank the North Adams Commons for the wonderful care they gave Pete. There will be visiting hours on January 24th from 4-6 at Johnson Funeral Home, 104 Bridge Street, Shelburne Falls.

My deepest sympathies to the Valiton family. Very sad to here of Pete's Passing. Pete was a great friend growing up and I will cherish the memories and good times we shared. Rest in peace my friend.
