Rebecca Clogston Obituary

Rebecca Clogston

Greenfield, MA - Rebecca Susan Clogston, a woman of immense strength and kindness, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 63 years old. She was born at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA, to John and Mary Bartus. Rebecca grew up in Leverett, MA, alongside her two brothers, Lesley and Kenneth.

At just 12 years old, after the passing of her mother, Rebecca took on a nurturing role within her family, demonstrating the resilience and selflessness that would define her entire life. She carried that same dedication into her work, including a career as a cook, and her strong personal relationships, shaping the lives of those around her with love and quiet determination.

While working at a bookstore in Northampton, she met her husband, Daniel Clogston Sr. They married and built a life together, welcoming their son, Daniel Jr., in 1986. Rebecca was a devoted wife and mother, offering unwavering support and care to her family through every challenge and triumph - and welcoming dozens of animals in need into her household along the way. Her generosity, warmth, and strength left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Rebecca is survived by her beloved son, Daniel Clogston Jr., and her brother, Kenneth Bartus. She is now reunited with her parents, her brother Lesley, and her husband, Daniel Sr.

A service to honor her life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to a local bookstore, animal shelter or charity of choice to honor her love for literature and animals and her giving spirit. Her son Daniel can be contacted at [email protected].
