Gill, MA — Robert "Bob" King McComb, 64, of Gill, MA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was the devoted husband of 37 years to Barbara Ann (Cardillo) McComb.

Bob was born and raised in Gill, MA, a graduate of Turners Falls High School. In 1984, he met the love of his life, Barbara; 3 months later, they married. Bob and Barbara settled in the Dennis, Brewster area of Cape Cod. He later built a home in Gill, MA giving his family the best of both worlds, the beautiful sea breeze and salt air of Cape Cod and the magical mountains of Gill.

Bob was a well-known and respected painting contractor throughout Cape Cod; he did a lot of work for William T. Everett Custom Homes and Paul Anderson of Trunnel Construction. There was not a day Bob did not have a paintbrush in hand. He was known for his unique mix of colors and impeccable detail, which was not surprising as Bob was a true artist. Bob created pen and ink drawings and several Disney themed characters for his grandchildren whom he adored. He also did the artwork including cover for his daughter Rebekah's children's book. Bob had multiple layers of talent, he was a self-taught musician and played (to name a few) piano, guitar, banjo and harmonica. Some of his favorite times were playing piano or guitar surrounded by his grandchildren. Bob also had a deep love for animals; he would nurse any animal in need back to health.

Bob will be remembered for his warm and humble demeanor, his generosity, his positive and upbeat style and his willingness to help anyone in need. He was a unique individual with multiple layers of talent who made lasting impressions on the lives of countless co-workers, clients, friends and family.

Bob is predeceased by his baby twins. He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Erin (McComb) Eldredge and her children Jayden & Jaslynn Eldredge, Rebekah Reed and her children Ryan Wendland, Nolan & Hunter Reed, Felicia McComb and her children Shyann & Natalya McComb, daughter Amelia McComb, son Josh McComb and his daughter Sophia; his parents James and Sonja McComb; brother James McComb, sister Shelly McComb and his beloved husky Tiffany. He is also survived by extended family including his in-laws, aunts and cousins.

A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on Thursday, February 3rd from 4-8 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis, MA 02601.
