Bernardston, MA - It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley Louise Beaudoin (Pease), 90, on June 25, 2025, at her home in Bernardston, with family by her side. Shirley was born January 8, 1935 to Violet Pease, (Garrish) and Crawford Pease of Bernardston, Mass.
Shirley was educated at and graduated from Powers Institute in Bernardston where she majored in bookkeeping. She started her career as a bookkeeper working for Wilson's department store in Greenfield. She then went on to work for the Northampton Cooperative Livestock Auction, Szalas Slaughter House in Sunderland, and for The Soy Factory in Greenfield, before finishing her career with Cersosimo Lumber Company in Brattleboro, Vermont.
Shirley met the love of her life, Hildege "Bub" Beaudoin, at an ice skating party in Leyden, MA. When she fell on the ice, Bub swooped over and helped her to her feet. From that moment on they were life partners. Wedding bells occurred for Shirley and Bub on August 14, 1954 and that love affair lasted for over 60 years, until Bub's passing in November 2014. They built a house together just west of her childhood home in Bernardston and they lived there throughout their lives. Together Shirley and Bub raised a family of four boys. After the boys were grown Shirley and Bub enjoyed traveling. They visited many states around the country as well as visiting several countries overseas.
Shirley is predeceased by her husband Bub, her parents and brother Eugene, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Leon and Evelyn, her brother-in-law Arthur and his wife Marjorie, sister-in-law Mary and her husband Robert, her nephew Dean, and her daughter-in-law Druann.
Shirley is survived by her sons Eugene and his wife Helen (Whitley) of Show Low, AZ, Eric, Michael and his partner Linda Deforest, and Mark all of Bernardston. She leaves five grandchildren, Danielle Magnant (who were each others best friend) and her husband Robert of Wilmington, VT, Timothy and his wife Ashley (Tilton) of Chantilly, VA, Laura Beaudoin of Mountain Home AR, Daniel and his wife Amanda (Clawson) of Maumelle, AR, and Kenneth Whitley and his wife Deana of Tucson, AZ. She also leaves six great-grandchildren, Cody and Tucker Magnant of Wilmington, VT and AJ, Kay, Cooper, and Ella Beaudoin all of Maumelle, AR, three nieces, Donna Barton of Leyden, MA, Darcy Olanyk of Sunderland, MA, Robin Robarge Davis of Bernardston and a nephew James Robarge of Northfield, MA.
A Graveside service will be Tuesday ( 7/1/2025 ), 11:00 A.M. at Center Cemetery, Depot St. , Bernardston Mass.
The Rev. Bobby Giard will officiate.
Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave., Northfield, Mass is assisting the family with arrangements.
