William Sicard Obituary

William J. Sicard

Northfield , MA - William "Bill" Sicard passed away unexpectedly at his Northfield home at the age of 67. Bill was born in Bath Maine to Gladys (Bowman) and Robert Sicard. His first years were spent living in Norfolk, Virginia, where his father was stationed in the Navy. While still a child, his parents went separate ways. He was raised with his three siblings: Donna, Lori and Larry, by his mother in Turners Falls, MA. Bill aka "Billy", graduated from TFHS in 1975. He had several jobs before securing a position at the Bendix Corporation in Greenfield. A few years later, he began his career at Judd Wire in Turners Falls, working as a Quality Assurance technician from which he retired. Bill was married to Sandy Jarvis from 1979 until 1999. They raised three daughters in the home they made in Montague Center, MA.

Sports were always an important part of Bill's life. In his High School Glory Days at TFHS, newspaper scrapbooks were filled regularly with articles describing his fast scoring in Varsity Basketball games and his skilled arm as a baseball pitcher. Many came to know Bill as "The Seekie Bird" or "Seekie" after hearing the famous whistle perfected during athletic events. He was active in the Montague Men's Softball League and enjoyed pitching for many years. He was a volunteer coach for his 2 youngest daughters and his grandson's baseball team. Bill also enjoyed a good round of golf. He was a very proud and dedicated New England sports fan.

Bill loved gardening, "catching some rays" lounging in the sun, kayaking, fishing, enjoying nature, tending to his chickens, flea markets, casino trips and his cat, Mia. He enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Some of his favorite things included playing with his grandkids, dancing, being silly, fun and carefree. And he always enjoyed a good prank! He absolutely loved his three daughters with all his heart. Bill simply loved life and wanted everyone to be "Happy, Happy, Happy"!

Bill leaves behind his three daughters and their families; Kristi and Nate Burnett of Erving, MA and their children, Darian, Davis, Nissa and Talon. Stacey and Doug Fish of Barnstead, NH and their children Kayla and Cody. Jillian Cycz of Montague, MA and her sons Connor and Trevor. He also leaves his sister, Lori Mumblo of Pittsfield, three nieces, Melissa DeJesus of Greenfield, and Ayla and Chloe Pierzchala. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his sister Donna Pierzchala, brother Larry Sicard, and nephew Eric Gass.

The family will have private services. A Celebration of Life is planned in Bill's memory, to be observed on Saturday, July 12th, 2025 from 1:00PM - 5:00PM at the Millers Falls Rod & Gun Club, 210 Turners Falls Road, Montague, MA. Details of the event are availible on Face Book at "Celebration of Life for Bill Sicard" and all are welcome. Many thanks to the McCarthy Funeral Home who have been entrusted with William's care.
