Betty Ruth Thomas

1934 - 2021

Betty Thomas, age 87, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on October 6, 2021, surrounded by family and friends, after a brief illness. Betty was born in Lyons, Georgia on March 8, 1934
In her teenage years her family moved to California. She was married to Kenneth Anderson on February 11, 1950 and they were later blessed with 5 children. Betty was a devout Christian who loved her Lord, which prepared her for a life of pastoral ministry with her husband. They resided in different areas in California. She was a compassionate woman who showed love and forgiveness to all she came in contact with. She was an excellent baker and cook. She served those who came into her home. She loved to work outside in her flower garden and spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were her delight.
Kenneth passed away on July 19, 1985. In her later years, she met Johnie Thomas, they were married for 20 years. He gave her much companionship until his passing in 2014.
Betty is survived by her children, Carolyn Johnson and spouse Thomas of High Point, NC, Sandra Dias of Modesto, CA, Linda Amparan of Porterville, CA, Ken Anderson and spouse Jeannie of Modesto, CA; step-son, Mike Anderson and his spouse, Jessie of Roseville, CA; sister, Sarah Coffee of Oxnard, CA; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Much appreciation is given to her daughter, Linda, for being an excellent caretaker for the last 7 years and to Hospice for their outstanding care. Also a special thank you to Pastor Peter, his wife (Cindy) and all her/ friends at the First Assembly of God in Porterville.
A visitation will be held at the First Assembly of God Church, 105 E. Olive Ave, Porterville, on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Service will be held at First Assembly of God Church, 105 E. Olive Ave., Porterville, on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM. A Graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA 95326 on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
