After a long cancer illness, Claudia Joan Unser Corcoran, of Springville, California, died on Thursday, April 17th, at 5:40 in the morning. The hand of God lifted Claudia's spirit with the breeze of dawn's twilight to be with His angels and her Unser parents forever. She was 61. Claudia lived in Springville for 36 years, interspersed with 25 years in Fresno. While in Fresno, she worked as an accomplished graphic designer. During her years in Springville she achieved a second career as a Special Education Resource Teacher for Burton Schools starting her educational career at Springville School. Her college degrees are from Fresno State College and Fresno Pacific University. Claudia was a loved and admired member of the Springville Women's Club. She leaves her families, husband of 37 years Michael, son Thomas Chase, and daughter Laurel Estelle. Monterey families are of Sister Carol and Joe Winningham, three nice nieces, Caren, Joanna, Cheryl with their spouses, children, and nephew, Jeff. The Porterville families are of dear Sister Stella and Bruce Steventon, wonderful nephews David and Paul and their families. Her in-law families the Corcorans: Mary-Alaska, Sally-Fresno, Anne-Fresno, Matthew-Oregon, Virginia-Fresno, and Jane-Washington all with spouses and many children and childrens' children started by Mother Rhoda and The Great Paul Corcoran, former owners of Du Mont Printing Company who reside in Fresno. Claudia's loving parents, Irene Jones Unser and Lawrence Unser, predeceased her; they were Springville, "California The Way it Used to Be."
Services Saturday April, 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Lighthouse Chapel, 35811 Rio Vista Drive, Springville.

From the moment Mike fell hopelessly in love with you...we all did too. We are Corcoran strong in love with your abundant gentle spirit; your enduring and constant radiance...
Always gentle kind words of divine understanding. Our wish for you,Mike, Chase and Laurel is to let us share the sacrifice that be holds you. Our hearts embrace you in awe of your strength and tenacity now as well as in the past.

I first met Claudia in Springville on rodeo weekend. Her smile was warm and welcoming and her eyes were the road map to her soul-real, honest, sincere, and loving. Claudia's laugh was wonderful, her voice was always calm, and her attention to detail was fun to watch. During her journey Home Claudia remainded positive, loving, and sincere. Mike, Chase, and Laurel have wonderful memories to guide them as they continue life's journey, knowing they will be met by The Father and Claudia at the final destination.

Our family was richer with Claudia in it. Claudia was sunshine she was rainbows she was fresh air. Claudia was selfless she was thoughtful she was gentle and kind. Claudia was always genuine. I always knew she cared about and loved me. I can hope and pray she knew how important she was to me and how very much I love her. Watching her with Mike, Chase & Laurel was something so special, her love and passion for them was like no other. I love you forever and always sweet Claudia

I will do my best to choose words to describe Claudia Joan Unser Corcoran.She was kind, thoughtful, considerate, loving, non judgmental, stern, intelligent, beautiful. She is our sweet Claudia. We loved her from the moment Mike brought her into our lives. We used to call her our own Martha Stewart - such an artistic woman. Any event that she had a hand in was a beautiful celebration yet she was a humble woman. I used to tell her that she was more my sister than sister in law. She would laugh and say yes but a bit odd since I'm married to your brother so that's just not quite right. We would laugh and hug each other. We always greeted each other with a hug and kiss and an I love you. Our visits over the past weeks have been filled with stories and laughter until our faces hurt. I searched my heart to make sure I had not left anything unsaid - there was never a cross word between us in almost 40 years. She will be in my heart for ever and I will miss her every day for the rest of my life. We will forever her the sweet song of Claudia's voice in our memories. My heart is broken for Mike, Chase and Laurel the precious family of Claudia. Love for ever from your sister of the heart, Ginny
