Colleen HANLEY Obituary
Passed away peacefully in her 58th year at the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital with family by her side on May 17, 2014 after facing cancer with courage and dignity. Beloved wife of Tim and loving and proud mother of Patrick (Mami) and Meaghan and new grandmother to Sophia. Cherished daughter of the late Basil and Florence (Hicks) Monaghan. Fondly remembered by her sister Mary Semczyshyn (John), brother James, sister Kathleen Klepachek (Kevin), brother Patrick (Cindy), brother Kevin and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, nurse and friend who will remain forever in our Hearts. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 5-8 pm. A funeral to celebrate Colleen's life will be held at Canadian Martyrs' Church, 100 Main Street on May 23, 2014 at 1pm. The family would like to thank the staff at the Ottawa Cancer Clinic, the Palliative Care Clinic, the Care for home services, the Ottawa Hospital Pain Clinic and the nurses and staff of 5 East of the Elisabeth Bruyère Palliative Care Center for their compassionate care. Donations may be made to the Elisabeth Bruyère Foundation or Canadian Martyrs' Church.

Hi Tim and family,
i was totally shocked to see Colleen's face with her so familiar smile in the newspaper, I was her physiotherapist for some years now and really enjoyed the wonderfull spirit , sense of humor and warmth that Colleen always showed.She was a pleasure to have treated. Thinking of you all.

Tim, Patrick & Meaghan, May you find comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering. I will always remember her with a smile on her face and her wonderful sense of humor. Not once did I speak to her that I didn't laugh. She was a wonderful person who obviously touched many people. She will live in your hearts forever.

We were so blessed to know and work with Colleen for so many years at the General. She had some ultra special knack of putting patients totally at ease which I so admired and that I will always remember. My condolences to the whole family and I will be in contact when I return from overseas.
