Gustavo Ramirez ""Gus"" Acevedo

1953 - 2014

Gustavo "Gus" Ramirez Acevedo passed away on January 9, 2014 at the age of 60. Gustavo was born to Celia Acevedo and Federico Ramirez in Paracuaro, Gto., Mexico on April 18, 1953.
In 1975, at the age of 22 he married and moved to Porterville with his wife Gloria Ramirez. In the 38 years they were married, they raised two children, Izela and Gustavo Ramirez Jr. He worked in agriculture for many years, however for the past 10 years he developed a passion for construction and became a self-employed handyman. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family; especially with his granddaughters. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a very kind man with a big heart and will be dearly missed.
Gustavo was preceded in death by his father Federico. He is survivde by his wife Gloria Ramirez, daughter Izela Ramirez, son Gustavo Ramirez Jr. and two granddaughters Vanessa Frias and Victoria Mendoza, mother Celia Acevedo, two brothers Federico A. Ramirez, Moises Ramirez and five sisters Lilia Ferro, Delia Manriquez, Nora Ramirez, Celia Ramirez and Isela Ramirez.
Visitation: January 20, 2014, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. Rosary 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Mass: January 21, 2014, 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne's church, followed by his final resting place at Hillcrest Cemetery.
