Janet Todd Obituary

Janet Lynn Todd was born on February 9, 1953 in Porterville, Ca to Sidney Lee and Elma Joy White. Her journey on this earth ended on March 19, 2021 in Duarte, Ca after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was 68-years-old.
Janet is survived by her husband Gary Todd, daughter and son-in-law Katrina and Angel Olmos, son and daughter-in-law Brandon and Nicole Witzel, and step-sons David and Jimmy Todd. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jarrett and Kelci Seaman and Kasyn and Brooke Witzel, 3 step-grandchildren Angel, Sabrina, and Lexie Olmos, three step-great grandchildren, her brothers Wayne White and Don White, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and great-great nephew and nieces.
Janet will also be missed by many friends who she considered family and her loving dog Dixie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby sister Donna Lee White.
Janet was a lifelong resident of Porterville, attending Vandalia Elementary, Pioneer Junior High, and graduating from Porterville High School in 1971. She had many memories she shared with her children of her high school years and enjoyed catching up with classmates at the class reunions.
Janet was a homemaker after high school taking care of her two children, Katrina born in 1973 and Brandon born in 1975. She also helped with the bookkeeping at Porterville Auto Parts for several years before joining her two brothers in the family business at White's Market. She was very proud to be a business owner with her brothers and continuing the business her father started in 1945. Shortly after selling White's Market in 1995, she opened Janet's Lil' Nail and Hair House where she worked as a manicurist for several years before accepting a position with the State of California. She worked at several State facilities, retiring after 15 years in 2016.
Janet enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching her grandchildren in their various activities, playing board games and cards, camping, swimming (she loved the water), going to the movies, bowling, walking her dog Dixie, and in her younger days riding her motorcycle.
She left an impression and touched so many lives throughout the years. She was such a strong person and showed her children how to be strong. She is deeply loved and will be missed beyond words.
Services will be private through Myers Funeral Service & Crematory.

It's with great sadness to hear that Janet has passed away. She was a wonderful person with a kind heart that I will always remember. I knew Janet since 3rd grade at Vandalia and have seen her in recent years at classmate reunions and gettogethers. My deepest condolences to her family. May she R.I.P.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I am fortunate to have had you on my life as a friend and work mate. You made me laugh and made our long vanpool rides to work fun. Heaven gained a beautiful soul. I will miss you!

It is with a great deal of sadness that my wife Barbara and I learned of the passing of Janet. She touched many lives and will be missed by not only her family but those who have known her for many many years. Our daughter, Regina Spoon, and Janet were especially close friends enjoying numerous bowling trips together, backyard BBQ;s attending the Festival of the Trees in Bakersfield, and attending church together in Springville. We wish the best for the family at this time of loss and pray that Almighty God will comfort them during this time.
