I Just realized (through Ancestry) he and his family are my cousins. Sorry to hear of his passing. My brother Dan (Billy) Medina was relating stories about the brothers, especially Ricky. Fond memories. RIP Joe

I lived on River Street in Porterville in 1943-45 Steve and Mary Alba lived next door to me. Steve was a Labor Contractor amd Mary was a really great Mom. I was one of Six kids of the Family of Marvin and Maud Cannon.

I have a small scar on my face which I got playing cowboys and Indians with the 2 oldest Alba Brothers...one accidentally put a gash in my face with a sharpened bamboo pole. Hardly visible now but back then I was only 3 or 4 years old. We played together every day.I learned some Spanish and they learned some Enlgish.

I have...other than that one incident...nothing but happy memories of the Albas. We moved to Poplar but since my Paternal Grandmother lived on G Street we visited until she died back in 1952.

I graduated from Porterville Union High school in 1958 and that summer my entire Family moved to Ukiah, California. I did a lot of moving around but have basically been right here ever since.I often think of the Albas. It saddens me to think of them because I think they were a very loving Family. God Bless them all and please accept my most sincere condolences.

I have nothing but good memories of Joe and his family. The Alba's were, and are wonderful people and I am honored to know them. I was just telling someone the other day about my sister, Stacie, going over to Joe and Deanna's stable and riding horses and cleaning stalls. She loved it. I was always welcome at their family gatherings. My graduation from High School night was spent visiting with Rick at his folks' house. I wish all of you the best in spite of you grieving for your loss.
