John Charles Moore, known to his loved ones as Red, passed away on November 21, 2023, at the age of 84 in Fresno, California. He was born on September 9, 1939, in Marked Tree, Arkansas. John was a retired California Highway Patrol Sergeant, serving the community from 1966 to 1995. His dedication and commitment to his work left a lasting impact on those he served and worked alongside. John is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Joella Moore. He is also survived by his loving sister, Susie Williams, and brother-in-law, Jim Williams. John leaves behind his son, Robbie Moore, daughter-in-law, Teresa Moore, as well as his son-in-law, Bruce Hubble. John's memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Matthew Hubble, Michael Hubble and his wife Ashley, Dennis Serna, Joella Moore, Emily Moore, Daniel Rodriguez, and Felicia Ruiz. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, David Hubble, Abigail Hubble, and Calum Reinhardt. John was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Moore Hubble, his parents, Howard and Louise Moore, and his brothers, Donald (Pete) Moore and Jerry Moore. Their memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them. John maintained regular communication with numerous cousins, consistently staying in touch with them. During his spare time, John enjoyed tending to his yard, as well as passionately cheering for the 49ers, Dodgers and Fresno State Bulldogs. In his younger years, he was an avid sports player. His love for sports brought him joy and camaraderie. John found solace and community at Woodward Park Church of Christ. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he cherished the time spent worshiping with his church family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory can be made to Woodward Park Church of Christ, where he found comfort and support throughout his later life. John will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of dedication, love, and kindness will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Services will be held at Woodward Park Church of Christ 7886 N Millbrook Ave Fresno, CA 93720 at 10:30am

Officer Moore came to my rescue when I was being aggressively followed by an unknown male. He left a vehicle he had stopped, to come to my aid. He will forever be my hero. My condolences to his wife and family.
