Linda Hunt Obituary

Linda Karen Hunt of Parma, Idaho, passed away in Visalia, California, on September 20, 2021, surrounded by her three loving children, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was 77 years old.
Linda was born on June 5, 1944, in Porterville, California, to Walter "Mac" and Charlcie (Harden) Graham. She was raised in Porterville and graduated from Porterville High School in 1962. After graduation, she married Artie Tolson. They had three children, Rhonda; Kimberly; and Randy. She later married Robert Hunt and added Ryan and Shawn Hunt to her list of beloved children.
Linda started her professional career working several jobs with the State of California. In 1980, she transferred to the California Highway Patrol where she worked as a stenographer and later as an Office Services Supervisor at the CHP Porterville Area Office. In 1992, Linda transferred to the CHP Northern Division Office in Redding, California, where she worked as an Office Assistant until her promotion to Secretary in 1995. She was subsequently promoted to Executive Secretary in 1999, remaining in that position until her retirement from the CHP on December 4, 2002.
Shortly after her transfer to the CHP Northern Division Office, Linda and her husband built a home in the small rural town of Igo-Ono, California. She later moved to Mount Shasta. After her retirement Linda moved to Visalia, California, to be closer to her children and grandchildren. A few years later she moved to Parma, Idaho. Her choice of locations to live were always motivated by providing her children and grandchildren a place to explore new outdoor adventures and build lasting memories. She always put others above self and always wanted her children and grandchildren to feel loved.
Linda is survived by her husband, Robert Hunt; her sisters, Clarice Martin and Barbara Hays; brother-in-law, Jim Martin; stepbrother, James Fairchild; and her children, Rhonda Lopes; Kimberly Parrish; Randy Tolson; Ryan Hunt; and Shawn Hunt. Linda had 32 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Please remember, as believers in Christ Jesus, we will be together again soon. If you are not a believer, Linda would ask that you seek out and accept the everlasting gift of salvation through Christ Jesus. It is through this gift that all who seek him will have eternal life.
At Linda's request, there will not be a traditional memorial service. Instead, she requested a joyful celebration of her entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven. The celebration will be held on Linda's birthday in June 2022 on the California coast.
In leu of flowers, Linda requested that a donation be made to Nyssa Church of the Nazarene, Nyssa, OR, and Crossway Baptist Church, Bakersfield, CA. Both congregations showed her unconditional love and support in her time of need.
With love and faith in Christ Jesus, we say goodbye to a dear woman that loved deeply and touched many lives. She will be missed.

Dear Bob & Family. So sorry to hear of Linda´s passing. Rod will always remember Linda´s kind nature and willingness to assist the CHP officers who worked at the Northern Division Office. We also think fondly of the many walks we did as part of the CHP hiking group. Linda was always laughing. May she rest in Peace. And her memory be a Blessing.
