Louie Soto Obituary

Louie Soto passed away at the age of 87 on January 22, 2013.
Visitation will be held at Myers Chapel on Monday, February 4th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, February 4th at 10:00 AM at Myers Chapel. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
He is survived by three brothers: Raymond, Peter and Johnny Soto as well as four children: Victor, Joe, Lewis and Vida Soto Adcock. He had two step sons, Duck and Ray (Bully) Alfaro. He also had twelve grandchildren. The Soto family journeyed in a covered wagon from Arizona to Los Angeles, eventually migrating throughout California. In 1932 the family settled in Corcoran where they faced great hardships. Later they moved to Cutler, California.
He served as a National Guardsman in the mid-forties. Louie began his working career at the Santa Anita Race Track as a grounds keeper, until he moved to Porterville. Later Louie worked in construction, for Chiavatti Construction Co. in Santa Ana. While in Oregon he worked as a handyman for a Labor Camp. Returning to Porterville he worked many years as a seasonal firefighter. Later in life he worked in the maintenance of mobile homes. He was known for the traits of persistence and being able to "fix just about anything."

My deepest sympathy to the Soto family. I remember Mr. Soto fondly. He would let me along with his grand daughters hang out in his cute mobile home. May God wrap his loving arms around the Soto's and comfort you all. God Bless.

We want to pray for the Soto Family's strength. We never thought this day would come, but now pops is in a better place with loved ones and is not in any pain.
