Rhonda Sharon Long

1963 - 2021

Rhonda Sharon Long was born in Tulare, California on February 8, 1963, to Calvin Junior Appleton and Daisy Louise Appleton. She passed away on September 8, 2021, at the age of 58. Rhonda lived her entire life in the Tulare County area and resided in Porterville as an adult. She graduated from Monache High School.
Rhonda married Russell Jackson Long, of Porterville, in 1982. Together they shared 5 children, and 11 grandchildren. Rhonda was interested in art, photography, and was very crafty. She enjoyed spending time with her family and travelling. Her favorite locations to visit were the coast, and Las Vegas, and enjoyed taking long car rides with no destination in mind. In 2019, Rhonda was diagnosed with cancer and fought a long, brave fight. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and older sister Deborah Bates, of Terra Bella. She is survived by her 5 children, Brianna Long, Matthew Long, Chelsea Wolfe, Andrew Long, Katelyn Long, niece Amanda Appleton, and 11 grandchildren, all of Porterville.
A viewing will be held at Porterville Funeral and Cremation Center located at 765 W Henderson Ave Porterville, Ca 93257 on September 20, 2021, from 3-7 PM. Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on September 21, 2021, at 11am.
