Stephen Durtsche Obituary

Steve Durtsche, a long time resident of Porterville, passed away March 22, 2022.
Steve was born in Reedley, California on July 6, 1948. Steve was a child when his family relocated to Porterville upon buying Loyds Funeral Service. He attended local schools where he made many lifelong friends.
After graduating from Porterville High School and obtaining his Associate Arts degree Steve worked for the US Forest Service then American Forest Products. He met his wife, Beverly, in December 1973. They married in 1977 and made their first home in Porterville, California. They later moved to the Lake Tahoe area. He so loved the mountains with its beauty and especially the fishing. But he moved back to Porterville in 1992, to take care of his elderly father. In 1997 he went to work for Farmers Tractor.
With his quick smile and his gifted ability to talk to anyone about anything, he was an excellent salesman. He retired in 2015.
Steve is survived by his wife, Beverly, his stepson, Jon Waggle and daughter-in-law, Connie and granddaughters, Colby Waggle and Sofia Waggle; his sons and daughter, Christian, Art and Heidi Durtsche; brother-in-laws and their wives, Allyn and Marlys Waggle, and Larry and Robin Waggle; and sister-in-laws, Leona Waggle and Beverly Durtsche, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Kathleen Durtsche brother Larry Durtsche; Father and Mother-in-law Robert and Irene Waggle, and brother-in-law Don Waggle.
Steve was a people person. He was funny and fun. He was quick with a big smile and a contagious laugh. He never met a stranger and was generous to give anything you needed. Steve was a very special, one of a kind person and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held for Steve on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at 11:00 am, at the Veteran's Memorial Building, 1900 West Olive, Porterville, California, 93257. Please come share your stories and memories!

Just heard about Steve´s passing. So sorry to hear. Though we didn´t see each other much over the years, he is a great friend. Just so sorry to hear.
