William Franklin "(Bill)" Bartlett

William (Bill) Franklin Bartlett, 68, of Porterville, California, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on September 3, 2018. Bill is survived by his wife Kathy of 47 years, son Aaron, and daughter Beth. He was also the proud grandad to Gia, Leo, and Avery. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. Bill loved sports, especially tennis, watching it often and playing it with his friends. In his younger years he played in tournaments at the Racquet Club, and, as one of his dear friends would say, "had a knack for ruining their afternoon". He was also an entrepreneur, starting Bartlett's Pool Service which has served Porterville and the surrounding areas for nearly 40 years. His example of hard work and servant leadership was evident in the way he chose to run his business and help those in need. This legacy will live on as Beth and her husband Garrett have taken over the business, renaming it Cornerstone Pool Service. A special thank you to the teams at Optimal Hospice Care and Visiting Angels, who went above and beyond to ensure Bill's last chapter was comfortable, helpful to his family, and exactly as he wanted. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 15th at 11AM. All of those close to Bill are welcome to attend. There will be a short sharing period followed by a light lunch.
