Evelyn Jean Cottrill, 85, of New Holland, Ohio died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 11:15 p.m. at the Madison County Hospital in London, Ohio where she had been a patient since April 21.
Jean was born June 8, 1928, in Washington Court House, Ohio to William and Marie Anderson Souther. She was a graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of Fayette County.
She formerly had been a teller at the New Holland First National Bank and the Clarksburg Commercial Bank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Glen Cottrill on April 22, 2014; by a son, Rick Cottrill in 2002; her parents and a brother, William Souther.
Jean is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Brooks McCoy of Williamsport; a daughter-in-law, Faith Cottrill of New Holland; four grandchildren, Heather Anderson and her husband, Matt, Lori McCoy, Aimee Lindsey and her husband, Shawn, and Chris Cottrill and his wife, Jill, seven great grandchildren, Audra and Graham Anderson, Natalie and Nicholas Lindsey, Caitlin, Casey and Cade Cottrill; a sister-in-law, Janey Cottrill; several nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Jessica Rutherford and Maggie Overstake.
The funeral will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with Pastor Jim Ferrell, chaplain for Berger Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home in New Holland Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
